Hampers & Lighthouse Visitors

Eden Fitton Hill, is one of three Eden teams in Oldham, Manchester, serving its community in partnership with it’s local Church.  Here we feature two activities over Christmas that Tim and the team initiated in response to local need.

Seen here, stacked high, are donations for Christmas hampers that Kel and Ruth (left) spent the day packing up and delivering to 54 local households who needed a boost in the run up to Christmas.  This was all made possible, thanks to  a generous donor who gave them £750 towards the contents of the hampers.

One recipient, touched by the generosity of apparent strangers said, “I never expected anyone to show they cared in such a practical way”.

Another great story from the team, relates to ‘The Lighthouse‘ which is a weekly drop-in session Eden Fitton Hill has set up for drug addicts and the homeless. Featured here (right) are two local girls, Emily and Andy, who wanted to give something back to the community over Christmas by helping the team set up and serve on the day.  They managed to serve a magnificent 30 meals that day and gave guests food and gift bags to take home.

Tim Royales, Fitton Hill Team Leader said, “It’s great that we can report these stories, but I also want to tell our supporters that because of them, I get to tell a young insecure lad how amazing he is and what good things are in store for him and get to see his face light up. That is a life changer for him!”
