There are a staggering amount of myths around about urban ministry. Many people seem to have the idea that our teams have to dodge bullets while they pop out for a pint of milk.
But life in the inner city simply isn’t like that, even in the most challenging neighbourhoods. Yes of course there are incidents, but most of the time life is actually pretty ordinary, just a different kind of ordinary.
To help develop a richer understanding of what life is like in the communities we’re serving we’ve begun a series of short films called ‘Being Extra Ordinary’. Through the real-life stories of our team members and their neighbours we hope to break down the assumption that you need to be a spiritual giants or holy warrior to do this. No, all you need is a simple faith and willingness to follow the footsteps of Jesus wherever they may lead.
We’d love to know what you think of the films so please do leave your comments after you’ve watched them. You can do that on each of the film pages using your Facebook ID so it couldn’t be simpler.
We also have these films available on DVD with additional questions and resources for a church or small group setting. If you would like us to send you one of these then simply email info@eden-network.org.uk.
